WAIT. I got a B in biology. What. Oh my god, that is awesome.

I don't know how this happened at all. The website first said my grade was a D, but it was marked as a C on the transcript. I thought that was the grade after I fixed my test, but it wasn't. Then I guess it was changed to a B after my real final score came in.

I don't understand it, but I am so happy. ;____;

Ahhhh <3

I totally just won a $50 gift card to Sephora. (So that'll get me like, 2-3 products, but whatever.)

FREAKING AWESOME. This week did a total 180. Or maybe a 360.

This is me being happy-ish. ^_______^

I went and spoke to the course coordinator for Bio today. Apparently there were plenty of complaints about the course and final, especially since the exam average was 51%.

As for me and 13 others, it turned out that I... had marked the wrong test form on my answer key. How this occurred is a complete mystery, because it was the first thing I did when receiving the test.

Yes, I'm a total moron.

But, the point of all this is - because she made no policy against it, she has to change and correct my final score to what I really got, a 77%. ^_______^

Sooo I pass the class. <333

AND. Last night was awesome.

It was our class part for Japanese, though only 12 of us showed. Kabuki was DELICIOUS, I honestly think that was the best chicken and beef teriyaki I've ever tried. I ate almost all of it. :3

I'm going to miss this group of people... most of them are going to Japan over the summer, so they won't be in 201 with us in the fall; they're taking 201/202 already. Just another reason I really, really wish I had gone this year. Plus, Wilson-sensei will be gone after this summer, meaning whenever I do go... it will be much less fun. .__.

Anyway, after Kabuki, the three over-21ers wanted more drinks, so we went to Dave and Buster's for a while for more talking. When Sensei is drunk, he has no inhibitions about talking crap about his students. :B

Picture or two later when they get uploaded; I stupidly forgot my camera, but Tazmin and Nastasha will upload theirs~ yayay.

Now if you'll excuse me, I am going to GO UNREGISTER FOR SUMMER SCHOOL. :D

It's... summer?

Japanese final was ok, I think. Got an A- on my portfolio. Everything is done, but somehow, I feel no sense of accomplishment. I don't feel as if I worked hard or did anything of use this semester. I was also very unhappy much of the time.

I'm going to miss Japanese and Wilson-sensei a lot, though. Like really. He's my favorite sensei, but now that he's graduating, he'll have to find a "real" job teaching elsewhere. He made this class the most fun ever. :(

I hope I did alright on finals. I'm guessing a C for biology and a B for Japanese, but I hope I did better than that, because it'd be pretty pathetic.

Tomorrow night is our class party thing at Kabuki (restaurant, looks SO good), but only 12 of us are coming. Oh well, it should be nice.

But, I mean, wow. Three more years of this? Seriously? I think I need a nap. This feels terrible.

mood: pissed off pissed off

Wow. Why are some Californians so obnoxious about our use of the word "Cali" like it's some huge, condemnable sin? I'm not an idiot, thank you, and we use it casually around here because... well, who really gives a crap?

Some forum moron belittled me for my use of the word, and it pissed me off. I asked my boyfriend what the big deal was, and he didn't get it, either. He's FROM San Jose. He said it was a little weird to hear, but it's really no reason to go around treating people like they're total idiots just because they use it. OH NOES. GROW UP.

Like I'm tainting the name of your precious state or something. Ha.

I forget that certain Californians really do think they're high-and-mighty, just like some people who live in Scottsdale. People should get over themselves. Really.

fdhsjkjheqw;;;

This guy I was just taking an order from on the phone said, "You have a really pretty voice."

And here I am, thinking I sound like a dumbass who can't say things properly, because I'm always asked to repeat them.

Anyway, I got really flustered and stumbled through the rest of the order like an idiot.

Hurr.

EDIT: ANOTHER ONE. Some lady said I have a great voice and that it's very "calming." This has never happened before, why are people being so nice. D:!! WEIRD.

IRON MANNNNN. <3

I freaking love Robert Downey Jr. :D He is amazing. (I still need a picture of that psych professor I had who looks EXACTLY. LIKE HIM.)

And... JEFF BRIDGES? SERIOUSLY?

Stay after the credits for a little something special for the fans. Mr. SLJ pops in to lead us into a sequel/spin-off.

Great movie for Marvel Studios. I really liked.

Also, it was in very good taste to show the Dark Knight trailer, I thought. I was extremely excited.

Ahhhh finals. If I don't get an A on my bio final tomorrow, I... will get a C in the class. X__X Not. Good.

And the chance of me getting that good of a score is pretty low. >_o;; Lots of studying to do.

Last night, I got my hair chopped off. ;; About 5-6 inches. It's cute, but a big change. About chin-length now. I really just needed to get rid of all the split ends and damaged hair. Now, with my glasses on, I again easily pull off looking the part of "cute nerd." So I guess I appear better matched to my boyfriend than ever. XDD

At least this is the best short haircut I can remember having. Usually it's pure disaster. :x I need to readjust to not needing handfuls of shampoo and conditioner anymore. I'll save lots of money on hair product! :D

Speaking of, I somehow ended up with extra spending cash this month, while reaching my savings goal at the same time. I'm tempted to both put it away and spend it. I've wanted to buy so much since I started saving, but... yea. I should probably use it to at least buy something I need, like new moisturizer for my face or decent shampoo or something. Ahh I don't know. ;; We'll see.

Apr. 30th, 2008 | 09:13 am

Monday night was NIGHT OF DOOM, because I had to stay up and work on my portfolio. :| It wasn't a lot of fun, but I got most of it done.

Tuesday morning, I had to go to school waaay early so I could carpool with Ian and avoid a parking fee I didn't have. I went to the computer lab and finished up my thing, but realized I needed DVD discs on which to burn the project. Durr. So I walk all the way to the bookstore and back to buy DVD's, only to not have them work.

I was a little too tired to care at that point, so I hung out with Ashley for a little while in the lab before meeting bf for lunch at the MU. :B We figured out the computing commons could burn onto the CD's I brought, though, and used that. Why did I waste $5 buying DVD's?

Aaanyway, then it was time for class and presentations. I was stupid and nervous and stumbled over my introduction, but then it was time to play my composition recording. We had just taken our family composition and recorded a reading of them to include in the portfolio. When mine finished up, they were all staring at me. D: Then they started clapping, and I was just... "!!?" Then they explained that I had a "really good voice for TV" and such, and that I sounded Japanese. I guess they were shocked that I'm a decent speaker because I'm so quiet all the time, as one girl put it.

Hahaha I felt pretty good. After listening to everyone else's recordings, I think I probably sounded the best... >>;; But I know I've been speaking longer than most people in the class, so it's not a huge accomplishment. STILL FELT AWESOME.

So that was the end of school. After Japanese I had to wait around for nearly two more hours for bf's class to finish, so I crashed in the lounge. Then went to his house for yuuummy dinner. I went to bed around 9:30, I was so tired, lol.

Oh and PAYCHECK came yesterday. Yippeeee.

Today there's some review session for bio, so I figured I'd go. It feels like a Saturday, though. My brain is all "Why are you not in schoooool" and it's weird. I don't even work until Friday.

Two finals to go, and in a week, HELLO SUMMER. <3 But classes are officially over. :]

Japanese presentation today, eep... ;; At least it's only about 5 minutes, but we also have to have both versions of our portfolios prepared and ready to turn in, so... gah.

I'm pretty sure this is what did me in last time I took this class, but then again, I did barely any of it. This time, it'll be about 85% complete, I think. That means I'll get a B, right? ;_;

Bf is taking me to school early with him so I can try to catch a spot in the language lab and finish things up. I still have to upload everything to the web server and make PDF's of my scans, but those are both things I can do only at school. >> I'll have about four hours, though.

After all this is over with, I will come home, eat, and celebrate with sleep. @@V Speaking of, I should be more tired, since I only caught about two hours this morning. It'll kick in later, I'm sure.

:B Last day of school, yes? Yes. Sweet.

How do you fit 60 people into a pickup truck? Or 30, for that matter?

...Is it really any wonder it crashed? Holy crap. Illegals are crazy. I wonder how that one slipped past Border Patrol, yet they stopped me on my way in to make sure my passenger and I were both citizens and exactly where we were going. e_e

Tentative fall schedule... it's all Japan from here on out. D:

MWF
Asian Pacific American Studies 9:40-10:30
Japanese 201 11:50-1:20

TH
Art of Japan 10:30-10:45
Japan (descriptive, rite) 2:00-3:15

I like my classes spaced out well. :] And while I don't really need to take another Japanese history course, it'll knock out a humanities credit and probably count for the major in some way... right? .__.;;

I'm going to be so burnt out on this country by the time I get any kind of degree. Jeez. I think I'll miss the variety a major program doesn't offer.

jumbled thoughts

Apr. 25th, 2008 | 11:33 pm

The evangelist preachers around campus lately have been infuriating. There have been articles about them in the school paper, and today was particularly bad because of the day of silence deal. Scream scream scream. Hate hate hate. Burn burn burn.

A girl was trying to be friendly with the preacher's wife and converse with her the other day. Their conversation went something like:
Girl: Hi, my name is ___. What's your name?
Wife: Why do you want to know?
Girl: Just trying to be friendly. She finally gives her name.
The girl tries to shake the woman's hand, but refuses. When she asks why, the wife replies, "Because I don't think you're a Christian."

I also took a picture of a huge sign that read, "Homo sex threatens national security."

There was also a very depressing article about a Hindu girl who tried to talk to the preacher yesterday. When she asked him how people of different religions could peacefully exist, he promptly told her she was going to hell, whipped out his Bible, and began reciting by yelling at her.

It all makes me so sick. I honestly despise these people. Every question is "answered" with a passage screamed into the crowd's face, as if it means anything. They can't even think on their own, and worse, they have forgotten what their own religion is about. Hint: it's not the book.

I liked this quote, however, from one opposer: "Don't preach on my campus, and I won't think in your church."

Freaking out a little about college. I'm going to be stuck here for a minimum of three more full years. Why did I screw up so much? :/ My first three semesters were, basically, completely useless.

I'm also scared because I have to take upper-division courses next semester. How different are they? Insanely hard? I cringe at the thought of writing tons of papers.

In short, university isn't for me.

But I can't explain that to my parents, who would never help fund my aspirations to do something else. What do I even do at this point, with two years of college over with?

This is too confusing/scary/difficult. I don't really like it. I don't want to attend school for thee more years and write a thesis and get a bachelor's degree. Why is this such a crime?

I finished my stupid test. I'm so upset I realized my kanji mistakes AFTER turning it in, and I'm worried I can't get an A now. Stupid. freaking. kanji. Every time.

I'm insanely tired now, though, so it's time for a nap. A well-deserved one. So glad school is almost over; I hate this. :|

Ughhh grumpy.

Finally finished my workbook. x_x; I only started it, oh, 12 hours ago. I had to sneak in some sleep here and there to avoid death, though.

I really, really hope the Japanese test is easy. I couldn't stand to get another low B on something so stupid. I need to up my average a lot so I can get an A here.

Wow, I'm freaking exhausted. x x;; I need to develop better study/work habits, I know. Next semester, maybe.

Three more days, and then I'm free~ (to study for finals, cough.)
